Amarillo Police will be hosting a grand opening for their Hamlet Neighborhood Police Unit Office this week.

On Friday, APD is hosting the grand opening of the new office located in the New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church (3100 Angelus). APD will host a celebration for the public on Friday, August 28, from 6-8pm at the new offfice.

CrimeStoppers of Amarillo will be present to do ID cards for kids and APD is also planning giveaways and free gun safety locks. There will also be a drawing for a free Ring doorbell camera. Snow cones will also be available from Charlotte’s Web.

The event is open to the public. Attendees are asked to bring a mask and follow social distancing rules.
