Local Businesses to Give Back During Route 66 Day of Caring

This weekend, residents and visitors are invited to historic Route 66 in Amarillo for a day of giving back to local organizations in the community.

On Saturday, September 5, a number of local businesses on 6th Street in Amarillo will host a day of giving for local organizations. Several stores will be open during this time, along with vendor booths and more. There is no charge to attend the event and parking will be available up and down the historic street.

Charities benefiting from the event include 7 Star Therapeutic Riding Center, Another Chance House, Bair Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Family First Foundation, Life Challenge of Amarillo, Panhandle Angels, Snack Pack for Kids, Southwest Ambucs, Square Mile Community, and Texas Panhandle Pet Savers.

The event is expected to kick off at 10am.
