Welcome to the 2021 Amarillo Pioneer of the Year ballot!
In 2016, the Amarillo Pioneer of the Year Award was created with a focus on recognizing and honoring the men and women who have had a significant impact on the Amarillo community over the past year. Since 2016, our readers have selected Randy Burkett, Renea Dauntes, Kip Billups, Dacia Anderson, and Hobert Brown as the people who have had the biggest impact on Amarillo in their respective years.
Now, it's your turn to decide who should be named the Pioneer of the Year for 2021.
Over the past several weeks, we have accepted our readers' nominations for who should be honored as our Pioneer of the Year. Using the nominations for our readers, we present our ballot for this year!
First, we would like to ask our readers to note that we received nominations for hundreds of Amarillo citizens this year. However, we capped our nominations this year at 18 for Pioneer of the Year. For those who do not see their favorite selection as a choice on this year's ballot, we have provided a write-in so you can honor your favorite community servants and leaders.
The voting schedule for this year's Pioneer of the Year election will run as follows:
Monday, November 1 - Voting Opens
Friday, December 10 - Voting Closes at 11:00pm CST
Thursday, December 23 - Winners Announced
We appreciate all of our readers' wonderful nominations and we thank you for taking the time to vote!
