Randall County Commissioners have ordered a burn ban that will last for 90 days.

According to the Randall County Fire Department, the burn ban was approved by commissioners on Tuesday, putting restrictions on all outdoor burning in the county. As part of the ban, the outdoor burning of trash, debris, and brush in unincorporated areas of the county is strictly prohibited, unless the restrictions are lifted by commissioners before the ban ends. Barbecue grills and smokers are still allowed to be operated during the ban, as they are exempted.

Violation of the ban is a Class C misdemeanor, with a penalty to include a fine of no more than $500.

If you have any questions about the burn ban, you are asked to call the Randall County Fire Department at 806-477-1750.
