West Texas A&M University alumni, current students and even the president and his wife are among the experts on tap for a series of eight financial workshops in April.

Education Credit Union Buff $mart will host its third annual Advanced Money Management Workshops in Zoom and in-person sessions between April 6 and 21.

The sessions for students are part of ECU Buff $mart’s recognition of Financial Literacy Month.

“Our goal is to provide financial knowledge to students on how to graduate with little to no debt and become financially independent,” said Meghan Williams, ECU Buff $mart program coordinator. “We are partnering with the WT Alumni Association and key alumni from the community to provide our students with financial education on topics that are of great importance to them as they prepare to head out into post-collegiate life.”

“This is a great partnership,” said Ronnie Hall, Alumni Association executive director. “Not only do our current students get to benefit from the wisdom of people who have been in their position before, but they also get to network with alumni as well learn the importance of joining our association and supporting the University in the future.”

Also presenting are student members of the ECU Buff $mart team: Hannah Frick, senior communications major from Amarillo; Trey Livingston, senior plant and soil science major from Cheyenne Wells, Colo.; Maddie Kleinschmidt, junior international business major from Kenai, Alaska; and JJ Castillo, junior management major from Amarillo.
