State Sen. Kel Seliger (R-Amarillo) has endorsed a Democrat running for Texas Lieutenant Governor ahead of the state’s November general election.
This week, Seliger announced his endorsement for Mike Collier, the Democratic nominee for Texas Lieutenant Governor. Seliger’s support for Collier comes as Collier is seeking to oust Republican Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick in this year’s general election. Patrick and Seliger have been longtime enemies, and Seliger has given some of the credit to Patrick for his decision not to run for re-election in 2022.
Along with Seliger, Republican Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley has also endorsed Collier. Both men are not seeking re-election in November.
