Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport Experiencing 'TSA Equipment Breakdown'

Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport is again experiencing problems with TSA. According to a notice from the airport, they are dealing with “a TSA equipment breakdown in the checked baggage area.”

Today’s problems follow problems with TSA equipment at the airport earlier this month, when the airport was down to a single lane for check ins as they were upgrading equipment. The screening equipment in the open lane then crashed, causing some to miss flights.

The airport is asking those with flights either today or tomorrow morning to “arrive at least 90 minutes before your flight” and to “use carry-on sized baggage as much as possible” to avoid delays. The airport did note that “both lanes at the security screening checkpoint are operational as needed.”
