City: Report Flood Damage With Online Portal

The City of Amarillo is asking for the public to report damage from recent storms and flooding to an online portal.

According to a press release, the Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool (iSTAT) portal is provided by the Texas Division of Emergency Management and Amarillo Area Office of Emergency Management.

The city has stressed that the portal, which can be used to report damage to both personal and commercial property, is voluntary and is not a substitute for reporting damages to an insurance agency. The city has also noted that “there is no guarantee of disaster relief assistance by reporting a damage assessment survey.”

Amarillo City Councilman Tom Scherlen told The Amarillo Pioneer that the reports “will help local residents and businesses recover from the disaster.”

The portal can be found at this link. The city’s press release about the portal can be found at this link.
