The City of Amarillo has announced Matthew Allen and Grayson Path as the finalists in the search for a new City Manager.
Both are currently serving as city managers. Allen is the City Manager for Garden City, Kansas, while Path is the City Manager for Paris, Texas. Notably, neither is currently employed by Amarillo, despite early indications from City Council that promoting from within would be their preference.
A total of 77 candidates applied during the search, which was conducted with the help of consulting firm Baker Tilley.
The public is invited to meet the two finalists at Hodgetown Stadium on June 3rd from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. According to a quorum notice posted by the city, the event will likley be held at the Fairly Club Level of the stadium.
