Tim Pirtle has won the Republican runoff for the 108th District Court bench.
According to unofficial election results from Potter County, Pirtle won 66.4 percent of the vote, defeating opponent Sam Brown Silverman. Pirtle won across absentee voting, early voting, and election day voting. In total, 3,205 voters cast ballots in the race. In addition, two voters undervoted the contest, meaning they cast blank ballots.
Following the announcement of his victory, Pirtle posted a message on social media thanking voters for their support.
“We did it,” Pirtle wrote. “So humbled by your support. Thank you, Potter County!”
Pirtle and Silverman advanced to a runoff following a close primary election in March. The two candidates — along with eliminated contenders Joe Marr Wilson and Pamela Sirmon — were campaigning to replace Judge Doug Woodburn, who was term-limited due to his age.
With his election, Pirtle is not expected to have an opponent in the November election and will take office in January.
