Q: Why did you decide to run for this office in 2022?

A: My decision to run for office was mostly driven because I don't feel comfortable with our current situation like many of us. The division Republicans continue creating, the spread of misinformation, and the cynicism with which Republicans and the incumbent address our necessities. There are a lot of significant issues that impact us as a community, no matter our background. I firmly believe that there is a better tomorrow when we can come together as a community. It is unacceptable. It's time for a new vision in Texas, and it's time for more transparency. It's time for accountability!

There are many people in need, working hard every day, working one, two, even three or more jobs, and they still can't make it. It's hard, almost impossible, to start a family, buy a home, live in a safe place, pay for medications, pay for medical expenses, pay for college, eat healthily, or even eat three meals per day. I am sick of that. I am running because I want to be part of the solutions.

I will do my best to help our communities, to address these needs, and do my part to improve our situations. My commitment is to work hard to win as a community. I firmly believe that there is a better tomorrow if we can come together as a community and achieve big things if we start looking for common ground.

Q: If elected, what will be your top three priorities in office?

A: 1. Serve our communities with integrity, compassion, commitment, a sense of urgency, and make decisions supported by data.

2. Establish a vibrant economy with thriving jobs,, boost entrepreneurship, attract new business opportunities, reduce unemployment to under 3%. Guarantee retirement security, empower business owners, design programs for all & protect pensions.

3. Manage the State's budget with efficiency, shift where the taxpayers' dollars are being spent transparency and modernize the Comptroller's office by creating programs that fit all our people.

Q: What is an issue you believe has gone overlooked in your race and how will you address it if elected?

A: We are overlooking the fundamental responsibilities of the Comptroller and the power of this position. The lack of transparency, the prioritization of the special interest group's agendas over the people's best interest is a big issue.

I would focus on transparency, accountability, efficiency, optimizing the office's capabilities, boosting entrepreneurship, attracting new business opportunities, and reducing unemployment to under 3%. Guarantee retirement security & protect pensions. I will make decisions in the interest of all the people of Texas, not the special interest groups. I want to celebrate and embrace inclusiveness and diversity. The office of the Comptroller must serve as a model to other agencies to follow, set new precedents with our initiatives, results, and accomplishments. I will lead by example and serve our communities with integrity, compassion, commitment, and a sense of urgency.

Q: Why are you the best candidate for voters to support for this position?

A: I have strong progressive values and am very passionate about what I do. My background is very diverse; the last 20 years of experience have prepared me with the tools and capabilities to succeed as Texas's next Comptroller. I have extensive experience managing processes, improving inefficiencies, leading large groups of people, and managing multimillion-dollar budgets. I have the grassroots experience to understand what our communities need.

I am by nature very transparent, passionate, bold, and open in my approach because I appreciate truth and transparency; I believe people and processes work better when they know what is ahead and have the complete picture to better deal with and manage the variables. As a leader, I am intentional, strategic and I like to equip and prepare others to be and do the best they can.

I will manage the State's budget with efficiency and utmost transparency. Use the office's influence to unite our communities, stop the hate and spread of misinformation. I will make decisions supported by data, identify revenue and investment opportunities and protect the pensions. I want to modernize the system's capability to elevate and simplify the user experience and correct any gaps in the services provided.
