Q: Why did you decide to run for this office in 2022?

A: Judicial administration is my professional DNA. It is the passion of my career and my life. My career quantified as a Criminal Clerk in Potter County, Pct.2 and Chief Court Administrator in Randall County, Pct. 4 led me to the appointment as the Interim Randall County Justice of the Peace, Pct. 4 in 2005.

This opportunity gave me an experience that would propel my interest and motivation to seek to hold the Randall County Justice of the Peace Pct. 4 position as an elected official.

Q: If elected, what will be your top three priorities in office?

A: 1. I expect there will be many challenges that present themselves at the inception of my term of office should I be elected. My top priority will be the jurisprudence of the seat of office. Intense study and careful examination of the law will be the cornerstone of my office. I will attend the required 20-hour training for the Justice of the Peace immediately.

2. Secondly, I will give attention to the condition of the court. I will make sure the criminal and civil departments of the court are in proper order. Any and all reports to the Office of Court Administration and to the Commissioners Court will be given due diligence in scope and attention.

3. My third priority would be to increase revenue by collecting on criminal cases not disposed of.

Q: What is an issue you believe has gone overlooked in your race and how will you address it if elected?

A: Covid protocol and fears have brought about change in the functions of different aspects of the court. One of those aspects is the manner in which one may complete an Inquest.

It is important to be physically on hand to complete an Inquest, if possible. I will, by principle and example, make every effort to be at the Inquest I am dispatched to investigate should I be elected.

Q: Why are you the best candidate for voters to support for this position?

A: My 30 years of combined criminal and civil law experience, along with my judicial and administrative experience, makes me the best candidate for the Justice of the Peace position. I previously presided over the Randall County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4 office. I have been managing and overseeing a local successful law office for the past 15 years.

My various roles in the Justice of the Peace Offices in Potter and Randall County, including Criminal Clerk, Chief Court Administrator and Interim Justice of the Peace, distinctly qualify me to operate the entire offices day-to-day operations. I am the only candidate in this race with that experience.
