Q: Why did you decide to run for this office in 2022?

A: The operations of the Justice of the Peace PCT. 2 office need adequate improvement of effective communication, unification, and representation within precinct 2. I firmly believe restoring the JP office's traditional functions will better serve precinct 2 with professional, relatable, and exemplification of service by reuniting the partnerships of the other precinct 2 offices and utilizing the Constable's Office in the courtroom and civil process. In addition, rebuilding an equitable, safe, and unbiased open people's court to dispute claims properly. Furthermore, the assurance of up-to-date and accurate training for the JP 2 office.

Lastly, Precinct 2 is a working-class community; therefore, I believe that implementing an afternoon/evening open court session will accommodate both Plaintiff and Defendants to attend their court date.

Q: If elected, what will be your top three priorities in office?

A: If elected, the three top priorities will be restoring the JP2 office to the traditional functions of professional and cost-efficient service. Secondly, to have a working team of the Commissioner, Constable, and JP to assure the proper representation and collaboration for precinct 2. Lastly, to engage in constant community outreach and participation in precinct 2.

Q: What is an issue you believe has gone overlooked in your race and how will you address it if elected?

A: The overlooked issues are the deliberate malfunction between the JP's office and the Constable's office and the continuance of having court through Zoom. Also, the JP2 office does not have the necessary bilingual skills to assist with language barriers. If elected, I will return the civil process to the Constable's office, allow the Constable back into the courtroom to bailiff the court, and reunite the offices to serve the precinct better. I will open the courtroom to have an in-person court that follows the Texas Justice Court Training Center and Texas Supreme Court guidelines. I will guarantee that the JP 2 office will assist individuals with a language barrier, such as forms and interpretation.

Q: Why are you the best candidate for voters to support for this position?

A: I have developed working relationships with the District, County, and Justices of the Peace, where I learned how the justice system operates in Potter County or should. I have encountered various individuals throughout my years working within the courthouses and within my career, which evolved my skills in dealing with different cultures. I am bilingual and lived in precinct 2 for 22 years with my family. My community involvement and relationships that I have established throughout the years have taught me that the “Golden Rule” still has value in precinct 2. I desire to serve with the utmost dignity and integrity because precinct 2 deserves it.
