Q: Why did you decide to run for this office in 2021?

A: I would be honored to continue my service as a Board of Trustee Member focusing on the priorities noted below.

Q: If elected, what will be your top three priorities in office?

A: 1. closing the achievement gap 2. competitive pay and benefits for all AISD staff 3. championing for local control of school decisions

Q: In what cases would you support efforts to raise property taxes? Please explain.

A: NA - only a TRE (Tax Ratification Election) could adjust the effective tax rare for an ISD.

Q: What is an issue you believe has gone overlooked in your race and how will you address it if elected?

A: After this COVID pandemic subsides, we will have a monumental task of addressing the educational drift caused by the pandemic. Our teachers have taught with such valor and determination and we will always be grateful for their dedication and service. Yet the truth remains we will have challenge before us. I am extremely confident the best and brightest teachers, staff and administration supported by a caring Board will find pathways for success for every student.

Q: Why are you the best candidate for voters to support for this position?

A: The experience I have gained over the last year and half of serving on the Board of Trustees has taught me so much about the strength and determination of our outstanding AISD Staff. Facing a crisis like we have all faced is not for the faint of heart especially when considering how these challenges have impacted our students. I pledge to champion for the success of every student and I am confident the lessons learned through my time current on the Board will assist me through continued service to the AISD and our community.
