Former Amarillo City Commissioner Daniel Martinez was recently spotted in a new ad released by the campaign of Dr. Ronny Jackson, endorsing the Republican for Congress.

In the video, Martinez praises Jackson’s record and background, while standing in front of Jackson’s campaign signs, and pledges his vote to the former White House Physician in the highly-anticipated July 14 Republican runoff election.

“I met Ronny about three months ago and I have never been more impressed by someone with the credentials and leadership ability he has,” Martinez says in the video. “I believe he is the only one in this…runoff that best represents the Panhandle.”

Martinez is the latest current or former elected official to back Jackson in his runoff campaign against former lobbyist Josh Winegarner. Martinez served on the Amarillo City Commission from 2003 through 2005.

Voters will decide this election on July 14. The winner of the primary runoff will advance to the November general election in hopes of succeeding retiring District 13 U.S. Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-Clarendon).
