Why did you decide to run for this office in 2025?

I am running because I love Amarillo and I have the experience to put Amarillo first by building a strong economy, a safe community, and reliable infrastructure.

If elected, what will be your top three priorities in office?

I will work alongside four other members of the City Council to put Amarillo first by building a strong economy, a safe community, and reliable infrastructure.

What is an issue you believe has gone overlooked in your race and how will you address it if elected?

We must focus on three key areas: economy, safety, and infrastructure. I will work to update zoning policies for affordable housing, and I will improve local job creation by restoring our partnership with the AEDC to attract businesses. Furthermore, I will support police, firefighters, and city employees with the resources they need, and secure salary increases for retention. Moreover, I will prioritize upgrades to wastewater treatment plants and complete the Northeast interceptor line.

What is your position on the issue of taxpayer-funded lobbying? Please explain.

"Panhandle Days" at the Capitol is a strategic opportunity to bring our local issues to the attention of our legislators. These efforts help to bring resources back to our community.

Why are you the best candidate for voters to support for this position?

I have extensive leadership experience which qualifies me to serve on the Amarillo City Council. For six years, I served on the Amarillo College Board of Regents and helped to enhance accessibility, affordability, and student completion, all while helping to manage a $67 million budget. As a lifelong Amarillo resident, my 12 years of service as a teacher and school administrator underline my dedication to education and community development.

In addition to my work in education, I have taken on numerous leadership roles, including involvement with St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, the Amarillo Police Department Community Advisory Panel, and the Randall County Sheriff’s Office Advisory Board. My participation in various organizations, such as the Panhandle PBS Advisory Council, NAACP, and the Amarillo Symphony Board of Directors, further exemplify my commitment to Amarillo's future.

A vote for me is a vote for Amarillo's future. I will work alongside the other four members of the City Council to put Amarillo first by building a strong economy, a safe community, and reliable infrastructure.
