The HEAR Act, introduced by Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn, has been signed by President Barack Obama.
The HEAR Act is aimed at helping facilitate the return of artwork that was stolen by Nazis during the Holocaust. The bill promotes the resolution of claim on Nazi confiscated arts.
Senator John Cornyn reacted to the bill's passage, saying, "The systematic theft of property by the Nazis during the Holocaust robbed victims and their families of important parts of their heritage. Allowing them the opportunity to recover part of their history is a small but significant step that’s long overdue."
The bill, which was introduced in April, was also sponsored by Senator Chuck Schumer (NY) and Senator Richard Blumenthal (CT).
