Senator John Cornyn had more bills passed into law than any other senator over the past two years, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Cornyn pushed eight bills to passage, during 2015 and 2016. Cornyn also did so as Senate productivity slowed, with the Senate passing only 29 percent of House bills.
2016 marked Cornyn's 14th year in the United States Senate. Cornyn first took office in 2002, succeeding the retiring Phil Gramm.
Cornyn also serves as U.S. Senate Majority Whip.
