Ginger Nelson, a local attorney and Amarillo Economic Development Corporation member, has announced a treasurer for a potential campaign for Mayor.
Although candidates are not yet allowed to file for offices, amarillo.gov states that candidates can announce candidacy at any time. While Nelson has not officially announced her candidacy for the office, the treasurer move is sending signals that a potential bid for a local office is shaping up.
Candidates for local offices can begin filing on January 18, 2017. Filing ends on February 17, 2017.
