Armando Martinez Files Celebratory Gunfire Bill

State Representative Armando "Mando" Martinez has filed a bill that is aimed at reducing and preventing celebratory gunfire.

"If my legislation could help save a life, you know, then definitely that’s what we’re gonna be looking at doing,” Martinez told the Weslaco Democrat, after being released from the Valley Baptist Medical Center.

Martinez filed the bill, following an incident where he was grazed by a bullet during New Year's Eve celebrations.

The next Texas legislative session begins January 10th.
