U.S. Congressman Beto O'Rourke is expected to run for U.S. Senate in 2018, against Ted Cruz, following an interview with the Texas Tribune.
During the interview, the El Paso Democrat said that he is likely to challenge the incumbent Cruz in 2018.
"I’ve had the chance to talk to a lot of people around the state of Texas over the last six weeks, and I will tell you, I’m very encouraged," O'Rourke told the Texas Tribune on Thursday in an interview. "And I am continuing to listen to and talk to folks, and I’m just becoming more and more encouraged."
O'Rourke is currently serving his third term in the United States House of Representatives, representing Texas Congressional District 16.
