Democratic Senate candidate Beto O'Rourke has announced that his campaign has raised $2 million in his challenge against incumbent Republican Senator Ted Cruz.
O'Rourke's campaign posted a video to Facebook today in which O'Rourke said that during the last fundraising period, his campaign raised $2.1 million in his challenge to Ted Cruz. O'Rourke said that of his donations 81 percent came from Texas and the average contribution was $44. O'Rourke also said that none of his money came from political action committees.
Senator Cruz has not yet posted his fundraising tallies. Final reports are due to the Federal Election Commission on Saturday.
