"A community meeting will be held Thursday, Nov. 2 at 5 p.m. in Room 275 of the Simms Municipal Building, 808 S. Buchanan St., regarding Chapter 284 of Texas Local Government Code: Deployment of Network Nodes in the Public Right of Way. The community will have the opportunity to provide input to a proposed small cell node design manual and ordinance prior to being considered by the Amarillo City Council.
City staff will be on hand at the meeting to present the highlights of the proposed design manual and ordinance. Once the public’s input has been gathered, the ordinances will be placed on an upcoming City Council agenda for consideration.
Chapter 284 of Texas Local Government Code encourages municipalities to provide technical criteria and details for the placement of wireless telecommunications infrastructure in the public right-of-way.
