WTAMU Earns Honors in Economics Program Guide

"For the fourth consecutive year, The Financial Engineer Times has recognized the graduate business program at West Texas A&M University with a top 10 ranking. The Master of Science in Finance and Economics (MSFE) was ranked No. 2 in The Financial Engineer Time’s 2018 Financial Economics Programs Rankings of graduate programs. The Financial Engineer Times’ Master of Financial Economics rankings are the most comprehensive rankings for graduate financial economics programs in the United States. 

Overall scores for the rankings are based on several factors, including the program’s acceptance rate, incoming students’ undergraduate GPA, employment after graduation, faculty credentials and starting salary.

The institutions recognized in the most recent rankings are as follows:

• No. 1—Columbia University, Financial Economics;
• No. 2—West Texas A&M University, Finance and Economics;
• No. 3—Brandeis University, International Economics and Finance;
• No. 4—California Lutheran University, Quantitative Economics;
• No. 5—Bowling Green State University, Financial Economics;
• No. 6—University of California – Santa Cruz, Applied Economics and Finance;
• No. 7—University of Colorado – Denver, Economics and Finance;
• No. 8—Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville, Economics and Finance;
• No. 9—Youngstown State University, Financial Economics;
• No. 10—University of Wyoming, Economics and Finance;
• No. 11—State University of New York at Buffalo, Financial Economics;
• No. 12—University of Detroit – Mercy, Financial Economics;
• No. 13—Saint Louis University, Applied Financial Economics;
• No. 14—University of Maine, Financial Economics;
• No. 15—Ohio University, Financial Economic; and
• No. 16—Utah State University, Financial Economics.

The Financial Engineer Time’s 2018 MBA Programs Rankings place West Texas A&M University in the top 100 in the nation for the third consecutive year. Harvard University, University of Pennsylvania, Stanford University, University of Chicago, and MIT are the top five MBA programs in the 2018 rankings. The following six Texas schools placed in the top 100:

• No. 12—University of Texas – Austin;
• No. 24—University of Texas – Dallas;
• No. 36—Texas A&M University – College Station;
• No. 55—Baylor University;
• No. 75—West Texas A&M University; and
• No. 87—Texas Christian University.
