West Texas A&M University has announced that it has received the largest grant in the university's history.
According to WTAMU officials, Paul Engler and the Paul F. and Virginia J. Engler Foundation have agreed to donate at least $1 million a year for a period of no less than 80 years to West Texas A&M University. In exchange, the Texas A&M Board of Regents has agreed to naming rights for the Paul Engler College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences and the Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business.
In addition to the naming rights, the grant frees up about $500,000 per year for both colleges and will help fund five different areas for the colleges. Those areas are: scholarships, professorships, named spaces, community outreach, and strategic planning or improvement.
The naming of the colleges goes into effect immediately.
