Lubbock police officers responded to a pair of bomb threats on Monday afternoon.
According to Lubbock Police Department officials, the first incident occurred on Monday afternoon, following a robbery at the Happy State Bank in Lubbock. Police say that a suspect robbed the bank and then left a suspicious package at the location. Police officers removed the package from the bank and escorted it to the bomb range, where investigators were able to investigate the package further.
The second incident occurred at Texas Tech University on Monday. Officers say that a suspicious package was found near Talkington Hall on the school's campus. The package was found in a vehicle by a dorm, according to the Austin American Statesman.
Dorms on campus were evacuated soon after the package's discovery. Several hours later, officials gave the "all-clear" on campus, as the package was removed from the vehicle.
No information is known about a suspect from the Texas Tech incident, however, a suspect has been photographed in the Happy State Bank incident. Those in Lubbock are being told not to approach the suspect if he is spotted and to alert police.
At this time, it is unknown whether the two event are connected, according to information released by a spokesperson.
