A West Texas A&M University football star has been recently received an honor from the Lone Star Conference.
Over the weekend, Dillon Vaughan, a graduate offensive lineman for WTAMU, was named the Lone Star Conference Academic Football Player of the Year. Vaughan is the first Buff to win the award since his brother, Dustin Vaughan, won the title in 2012 and 2013.
Vaughan, a native of Corpus Christi, holds a bachelors degree in finance from WTAMU, and is currently seeking his masters degree.
In addition to Vaughan's honor, WTAMU junior offensive lineman Michael Whitfield was named to the LSC All-Academic Team.
