Two candidates have filed to run for Randall County Clerk, setting up a March Republican primary showdown.
Marie McNutt, a Randall County employee, has filed to run for Randall County Clerk in 2018. In information on her campaign's Facebook page, McNutt says that she has worked in the Randall County Clerk's office for seven years and understands the processes in the office.
McNutt is the second candidate to file to run for the spot. Jami Love, a Republican, has also filed to seek the seat in 2018. Both candidates' filings mean that Randall County will have the second contested Randall County Clerk race in four years.
In 2014, incumbent clerk Renee Calhoun faced off with Tiffany Olsen Pearson, a veterinarian. According to Randall County voting records, Calhoun topped Pearson, 68 percent to 32 percent.
Incumbent Renee Calhoun is eligible to seek re-election but has not indicate whether she will seek re-election in 2018.
Candidates have until December 11th to file for a spot on the March ballot of either parties.
