County Clerk Race Swells to Three Candidates

The race to become the next county clerk of Randall County has now attracted three candidates.

Susan Allen filed the paperwork with the Randall County Republican Party to earn a place on the ballot in 2018. Allen is the third candidate to earn a place on the ballot in the race for Randall County clerk.

Marie McNutt and Jami Love are also seeking the office of county clerk in Randall County. The three candidates have ensured that the second contested county clerk race since 2014 will take place this year.

In the most recent contested race for county clerk, incumbent Renee Calhoun defeated veterinarian Tiffany Olsen Pearson with 68 percent of the vote in 2014. Calhoun won the Republican primary and did not face a challenger in the general election.

There is no word yet on whether Calhoun will seek re-election.

Candidates have until December 11th to file for a spot on the ballot. Primary election day is December 6th.
