U.S. Marshals, Randall Sheriff Report Rising Scam Calls

The U.S. Marshals and the Randall County Sheriff's Office are reporting rising scam calls in the area.

According to the Randall County Sheriff's Office, scam callers are targeting victims and claiming to be U.S. Marshals, court officers, or other law enforcement officials. The scam callers are reportedly attempting to collect a fine by phone by threatening arrest. The scam callers then tell the victims that an arrest can be avoided by purchasing a prepaid debit card and reading the number over the phone to pay the fine.

If you believe you have been a victim of this scam, you are asked to call the Randall County Sheriff's Office at 806-468-5800. You can also call the U.S. Marshals office or the Federal Trade Commission.
