Amarillo Fire Crews Battle Junkyard Blaze

Fire crews in Amarillo fought a blaze in Amarillo on Thursday morning as a junkyard area in North Amarillo.

Emergency crews responded about 9:30am on Thursday, to a location in the vicinity of the 7300 block of Amarillo Boulevard East. Crews responded near the All Foreign Cars & Parts yard in North Amarillo and found a large fire.

Officers on scene told the Amarillo Pioneer that the fire was especially hot due to the tires and other auto parts on the scene. The origin and cause of the fire is still unknown.

At 2:54pm on Thursday, the Amarillo Fire Department called the fire 100 percent contained. The containment of the fire took a crew of nearly 30 firefighters.
