Crews from the Amarillo Fire Department fought a fire on North Johnson Street early on Wednesday morning.
According to AFD officials, crews were sent to 605 N. Johnson at 6:56am on Wednesday morning on the report of a structure fire. Crews arrived to find a single-story residence fully involved in the fire. The fire was called under control 12 minutes after crews arrived.
Officials say that crews were dispatched to the same location on Tuesday evening. That fire had involved the garage and back area of the house and was called under control shortly after midnight.
The Amarillo Fire Marshal's Office said that the origin of the first fire is undetermined and the second fire is believed to have been a rekindle. A smoldering fire in the attic reignited and is believed to have caused the second fire.
Nobody was hurt during the fires. Damages have been estimated at $40,000.
