City Offices to Close for Holidays

"City of Amarillo offices and facilities will close Monday, Dec. 25, 2017 and Monday, Jan. 1, 2018 in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays, respectively. Please note the following changes in normal business hours:

Amarillo City Council

The regularly scheduled meeting of the Amarillo City Council for Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017 has been cancelled. Amarillo City Council will reconvene Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018.

Amarillo Animal Management & Welfare (AAM&W)

AAM&W and the Amarillo-Panhandle Humane Society will close at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017 and will reopen Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017. Both organizations will close on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017 and will resume operations on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018. Remember to adopt, don’t shop!

Solid Waste Collections

Trash collection normally scheduled for Monday, Dec. 25, 2017 and Monday, Jan. 1, 2018 will be picked up on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017 and Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018. Tuesdays regular solid waste collection services will occur on the following Wednesdays. Those will bulky waste such as large boxes, furniture, and other things too large to fit into the dumpsters are asked to call Solid Waste at (806) 378-6813 to schedule a curb-side pick-up.

Public Health

The Public Health department will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25, 2017 and Monday, Jan. 1, 2018. The STD clinic/HIV outreach programs will not be open for patient testing on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 or Friday, Dec. 29, 2017.

Amarillo Public Library

All Amarillo Public Library locations will close Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017 and Sunday, December 31, 2017. All libraries will reopen with regular business hours on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017 and Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, respectively.

Transit

There will be no Transit service on Monday, Dec. 25, 2017 or Monday, Jan. 1, 2018. Normal operations will resume with regular schedule routes and times on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017 and Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018.
