The population of Texas grew about 400,000 in one year, according to new information released by the U.S. Census Bureau.
Numbers released by the U.S. Census Bureau show that Texas added 400,000 to its population from July 1, 2016 through July 1, 2017. The increasing population in Texas occurs even as the U.S. Census Bureau reports a nearly 2 percent drop in net nationwide migration.
The newly released numbers mean that Texas will continue holding its place as the most populous state in the union. Texas currently has in the neighborhood of 28 million residents.
