The Houston Chronicle is reporting that Ben Taub Hospital, in Houston, has received the "all-clear" following initial reports of an active shooter on scene.
The reports came in this afternoon that a shooter had been reported on the hospital's premises. The Chronicle reports that "an early report indicated that a shooter has been cornered on a floor of the hospital." However, reports from Police Chief Art Acevedo confirmed that no evidence was found of an active shooter or shooting.
SWAT and K9 units were on premises during the investigation.
Acevedo issued a statement on Twitter following the "all-clear" saying, "Searches at Ben Taub completed, situation is stable and normal hospital operations resuming. Thank you all for your patience."
KHOU reports that the Houston Police Department is now checking security cameras to determine how the situation started.
