San Jacinto Heads to State Tournament

San Jacinto Christian Academy's girls basketball team is headed to the state tournament.

San Jacinto will be facing TAPPS rival Lubbock Trinity in the tournament at McMurry University in Abilene. San Jacinto has a record of 17-15 for the season, while Lubbock Trinity holds a record of 24-12.

Head coach Austin Studer warmed up the student body of the school during a pep rally before the team departed to Abilene. Studer spoke of San Jacinto's long journey to the tournament and he stressedhis team's desire to win.

This is San Jacinto's first trip to the state tournament, since 2012.

The game against Lubbock Trinity will be played at 9am on Friday.
