Caprock High Begins Offering Universal Breakfast for Students

Caprock High School has begun offering free breakfast to its students, according to Amarillo ISD.

Caprock began offering free breakfast to its students at the beginning of the Spring semester, according to amaisd.org.

Amarillo ISD announced the move on its website today, saying, "Federal and state regulations require universal breakfast be served at any school where 80 percent of the student body qualifies for free or reduced-price meals. Amarillo ISD has taken that a step further, offering free breakfast to all students at schools where that number is 60 percent or greater."

Caprock is joining Palo Duro High School as the second high school in the district to offer universal breakfast. The practice is also in place at eight middle schools and 26 elementary schools.
