The Texas Senate has approved the so-called "Bathroom Bill."
In a 21-10 vote today, the Texas Senate approved SB 6. According to Texas Legislature reports, SB 6's focus is "Relating to regulations and policies for entering or using a bathroom or changing facility; authorizing a civil penalty."
Throughout the debate over the bill, the bill has been called a "legislative priority" for Lt. Governor Dan Patrick.
The bill has been heavily debated in the Senate. In the final vote, one Democrat voted for the bill, while the other present Democrats voted against.
