Municipal Cards Brings Changes to Property Taxes

There is a new product on the horizon that will soon bring a major change to property taxes.

Municipal Cards is a new company offering a property tax savings program called the Estate Card that offers a percentage of every dollar spent on the card being credited to ones property tax as a reward. The program costs nothing for municipalities to participate and requires minimal government resources, per a brochure from the company.

Municipal Cards based in McKinney, Texas is the only company to offer such a program and licenses their technology to taxing authorities.

The program through Municipal Cards offers several levels of reward with a greater percentage being earned for purchases made locally and online. A .25% base reward is earned on all transactions with as much as 25% in reward being earned locally and online at over 3,200 participating merchants.

The program is valuable to local governments as it enables them to effectively reduce the tax burden of property owners without reducing any incoming tax dollars and additionally brings in new revenue all while promoting local spending.
