The Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association has extended its contract with the Tri-State Fair Exposition.

The Amarillo Convention and Visitors Council announced today that the CMSA has voted to approve the contract extension to stay in Amarillo. The CMSA Wrangler World Championships will now stay in Amarillo, at least through 2021.

"Our relationship with Amarillo has been outstanding and the board was very excited to nail down our event in Amarillo for the next five years." said Dan Plaster, president of the CMSA.

The economic impact from the competition is over $500,000, according to Dan Quandt, Vice President of the Amarillo CVC.

The 2017 Wrangler World Championship will be held from October 18 through October 21st, at the Amarillo National Center.
