The Amarillo Police Department's SCU is investigating a homicide in east Amarillo.
According to APD, officers were dispatched on Monday to 1212 SE 7th Avenue on some type of assault. When officers arrived, they found a female inside of the residence that had an obvious injury to a portion of her upper body.
APD reports that the victim was identified as Dalia Soria, 50. Soria was transported to a local hospital, where she later died.
The Special Crimes Unit was called to conduct an investigation into Soria's death.
