APD Investigating Incident at 34th and Ong

"On May 9th at 1:24 AM, officers were dispatched to Southwest 34th Avenue and South Ong Street on a major collision.

A 2011 Dodge Charger driven by Tristan Lane Beezley, a twenty one year old male, had been eastbound on 34th at a high rate of speed.  The Charger ran into a 2001 Toyota Celica driven by Nicholas Jago Martinez, a twenty year old male that was also eastbound on 34th.  The impact caused both vehicles to spin out of control. Both vehicles ended up rolling over and striking fences to homes along 34th.

Martinez was taken to a local area hospital with life threatening injuries.  A twenty year old female passenger in the Toyota was taken to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Speed and alcohol are factors in this wreck.

Beezley was booked into Randall County Jail for Intoxicated Assault.

The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department."
