Residents Say "Goodbye" to Current Council

Amarillo residents said "goodbye" to Amarillo's current City Council, during Tuesday night's Amarillo City Council meeting.

Resident Alan Abraham expressed disappointment at seeing the Council leave and thanked Mayor Paul Harpole.

Resident James Schenck also expressed disappointment at seeing the council's departure, saying that the Council had "turned the ship around." Schenck congratulated the new Council and said that he will be taking his "Place 5" spot in the audience.

Councilmember Mark Nair and Mayor Paul Harpole also congratulated the new Council. Nair said that his successor, Howard Smith, is a good man. Harpole also praised Mayor-elect Ginger Nelson by saying that Nelson will be up to the task of the job of the Council.
