A West Texas A&M University graduate has received an Emerging Composers Fellowship in New York City.
WTAMU announced that recent graduate Misael Tambuwun will spend June 2nd through the 11th at the Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival, in New York City, as the recipient of a coveted Emerging Composers Fellowship. Tambuwun will then travel to Boston for the world premiere of his own work at the Divergent Composition Workshop at the Longy School of Music of Bard College. Tambuwun's composition, "Behind Closed Doors," was written in two days while Tambuwun was studying at WTAMU.
Tambuwun is planning to pursue a master's degree in composition from the Peabody Conservatory of Music at Johns Hopkins University.
