Cowell, San Marcos City Manager Finalists Invited to Reception

Bob Cowell and four other finalists vying to become the next city manager for the City of San Marcos, Texas are headed to a reception in the South Texas town, this week.

The five finalists for the City of San Marcos job will meet at a reception on Thursday, July 13th. According to San Marcos' Community Impact Newspaper, the reception is part of San Marcos' process for replacing Jared Miller, who left San Marcos to become city manager in Amarillo.

Cowell, Amarillo's deputy city manager, is competing with James Childers, Bert Lumbreras, Michael Marrero and Stephen Riley for the position.

Cowell was previously a finalist for the city manager job in Tacoma, Washington and for the city manager in Amarillo, prior this year.
