Former State Rep. Vaught Considering Running for Lt. Governor

Allen Vaught, a former state representative from Dallas, is considering challenging Dan Patrick for Leiutenant Governor in 2018.

Vaught, a Democrat, posted a notice on his Facebook page that he is considering running for the seat in 2018. Democrat businessman Mike Collier and incumbent Republican Dan Patrick have both announced that they are seeking the office.

Vaught previously served in the Texas House of Representatives for District 107 from 2007 until 2011. Vaught was defeated in his 2010 re-election bid by Republican Kenneth Sheets.

Candidates have until December 11th to file to run in the 2018 Texas primary election.
