The Bexar County Republican Party executive committee has passed a resolution calling for a change of leadership in the statehouse.
By a 36-28 vote, the Bexar County GOP voted to condemn the incumbent house speaker Joe Straus and called for a change of leadership due to the incumbent's lack of support for the Republican Party of Texas platform.
The Austin-American Statesman reports that the meeting was sparsely attended by the executive committee, which is made up of 244 sitting precinct chairs.
