Former Texas Comptroller Susan Combs is expected to be nominated for a role in the Trump Administration, according to the Texas Tribune.
The Tribune reports that President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he will nominate Combs for the role of assistant secretary of the Interior for policy, management and budget. Combs will officially join the administration after being speculated as a potential cabinet pick earlier this year.
Combs served as agriculture commissioner of Texas from 1999-2007 and served as comptroller of public accounts from 2007 until 2015. Combs was succeeded by incumbent comptroller Glenn Hegar.
