APD Receives 323 Fireworks Complaints on July 4th

The Amarillo Police Department is reporting 323 fireworks complaints over the July 4th holiday.

APD reports that on July 4th, the department received 323 fireworks complaints in a 24-hour period. Total calls for service on July 4th were 941. This is between 200 or 300 calls more than usual for the APD during a 24-hour period.

Nine fireworks violations received citations. 1 violation was for possession, 6 were for discharge and 2 were for allowing a juvenile to possess or discharge a firework.

If you have any leftover fireworks, you are asked to call 378-9092 so that the Amarillo Fire Department or APD can arrange for disposal.
