The Texas Rangers have called up Nick Gardewine to take over a relief spot in the bullpen, following Matt Bush's injury.
During last night's Rangers game, Bush collided with Texas infielder Joey Gallo, causing him to be sent into concussion protocol. Bush has reportedly been place on the Texas disabled list with a knee injury.
Following Bush being placed on the disabled list, Texas called up Gardewine from the AA Frisco team. Gardewine, 24, came to Texas from Kaskaskia College, after being selected in the 2013 MLB draft. As Gardewine has pushed hard during the season, he has posted a 2.47 ERA.
Gardewine will be on the bullpen bench tonight as Texas looks to capitalize on new momentum in their victory last night over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Texas will be taking on Los Angeles at 9:08 in Anaheim.
That game will be broadcast on ESPN.
